The International Maitreya Foundation® is a not-for-profit charitable organization, founded in 1997 by VIII Dakpa Rinpoche of Drepung Loseling Monastery to support disabled and disadvantaged Tibetan Refugee Children living in India, Nepal and Bhutan and Himalaya Region.

The foundation is well established in India by laws under Indian Societies ACT XXI of 1860, No/S32008 of 1997, FCRA (foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 2010 No.231661307, Section 80G(5) of the Income Tax Act of 1961 No.9DEL-IE26337-28092015/6874) and order 12AA of the Income Tax Act of 1961 No.DEL-IR21908-08022012/1362.

The aims of the Maitreya Foundation are purely to help a refugee community in distress now and to help Tibetan Children inside Tibet in the future. The credibility of this foundation lies upon the trust and support given by H.H. The Dalai Lama.
